Laurence Stock
Mr. Stock is a broadly skilled, financial executive with extensive experience starting, financing and building growth-oriented companies. During the course of his career, he has been responsible for leading financing transactions, developing strategic partnerships, conducting strategic planning processes, maintaining lender and investor relations, overseeing information technology and leading financial planning and analysis and establishing cash management, budgeting and forecasting, and financial and operating reporting processes and procedures.
Mr. Stock recently formed his own consulting firm which provides outsourced “CFO” services to entrepreneurial clients. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer of The Reference, Inc., a consulting firm focused on investment managers. At The Reference, Mr. Stock successfully negotiated and closed a $3 million angel financing, managed revenue growth from $6 million to $15 million and structured and negotiated a strategic partnership which resulted in a significant cash infusion and revenue to his company.
Mr. Stock also served as Chief Financial Officer of Benchmarking Partners, Inc., a Cambridge, MA research-based strategy consulting firm. While at Benchmarking Partners, Mr. Stock negotiated and closed an $8 million venture capital infusion, negotiated a strategic partnership agreement with Cisco resulting in a $30 million investment and managed the successful spin-off of a supply-chain collaboration software start-up.
Prior to joining Benchmarking Partners, Mr. Stock was President of CFR, Inc., a Systems VAR/Integrator and Vice President of Operations for Technology Procurement, Inc., a computer hardware integration and export firm, and a Systems Analyst for SUS Group, a UK based maintenance and systems integration firm.
Mr. Stock holds a B.A degree in Electronic and Information Sciences and a Post Graduate diploma in Computer Science, both from Cambridge University in England.
